Bifold Door Hardware

Bifold door hardware carries the door panels through the folding action and keeps them running smoothly. This range covers standard top mount and side mount kits for internal doors, heavy-duty kits for barn-style bifold doors, lightweight kits for pantry and cupboard doors, and specialised systems for tighter openings.

What is included in a bifold door hardware kit

Our top mount kits fix the rollers to the top edge of the door for a smooth, uninterrupted face. Side mount kits fix the rollers to the door face and are visible from the front. All kits include the track, rollers, hinges and standard fixings. Choose the kit size by matching the track length to your finished opening width, then confirm the door weight is within the kit’s rated limit.

Weight ratings and kit sizes

Our standard kits are rated to 30 kg and 60 kg for larger or heavier doors, with track lengths from 720 mm up to 2 m to suit single and double door openings. For pantry doors and light cupboard doors, our 13 kg kits suit narrower openings where a full-size barn door kit would be oversized.

Specialised systems

The Compack 180 is a hinge-based folding system with no track or rollers. The door swings on concealed hinges without any sliding movement, and no wall modifications are needed. The ERGON system combines a rotating and sliding movement in one action, reducing the space the open door occupies by half compared to a standard hinged door, without masonry work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What bifold door hardware do I need?

It depends on your door’s weight and the type of folding action you want. Our standard top mount kits suit doors up to 60 kg and our side mount kits up to 30 kg, while our pantry hardware kits suit lighter doors up to 13 kg for cupboards and small openings. For a more specialised action, the Compack 180 is a hinge-based system with no track or rollers, and the ERGON system combines a rotating and sliding movement to reduce the space the door takes up by half compared to a hinged door. Send us your opening width, door weight and the type of opening you need and we will confirm the right kit.

How do I choose the right track length for a bifold door?

Match the track to your opening width, not the door width. For our standard top mount kits, a 900 mm track suits an 820 mm opening for a single door, and sizes go up to 2 m of track for a 1900 mm double door opening. Send us your finished opening width and single or double configuration if you are unsure which size to choose.

What is the difference between top mount and side mount bifold hardware?

Top mount hardware fixes the rollers to the top edge of the door panels, keeping the door faces smooth and uninterrupted. Side mount hardware fixes the rollers to the face of the door, so they are visible from the front. Both types carry the same door weight range. Choose top mount for a cleaner look, or side mount if the door’s top edge is not accessible for drilling.

Is your bifold door hardware suitable for pantry and cupboard doors?

Yes. Our BF-30D and BF-30Z kits are designed for lighter doors up to 13 kg, which makes them suitable for pantry doors, cupboard doors and other small internal openings. They are a lighter-duty option than our standard barn door bifold kits and are sized for narrower openings.

Does your bifold door hardware include all fixings?

Yes, all standard fixings are included in our hardware kits. The hardware is sold separately from the door panel. If you need a matching bifold barn door, our bifold doors range includes solid wood, primed shaker and glass designs.
